Monthly Grant for Mid- and Low-Income ElderliesThe City has issued living allowances for the middle- and low-income elderlies, with an amount from NT$ 4,164 to 8,329 subsidized per month depending on an elderly’s economic situation. In 2024, the subsidy totaled at NT$ 443 million, benefitting more than 58,565 people.Gift Money for Senior Citizens at Three Major HolidaysStarting from 2023, in order to recognize the dedication of all elders, Taoyuan City will increase the senior citizens’ gift money for three major traditional festivals (Chinese New Year, Dragon Boat Festival, and Mid-Autumn Festival) from NT$2,000 to NT$2,500 per festival, and remove the wealth-exclusion clause. In addition, the Double Ninth Festival senior citizens' gift money will also be adjusted from NT$2,000 to NT$2,500, while those aged 99 and above will continue to receive NT$10,000.Other Grants and ServicesMeal delivery service for the disadvantaged and disabled elderly at home is available. Also, financial supports such as elderly NHI premium subsidies, dental medicine subsidies, and long-term care, health promotion programs, ageless learning and Longevity Academy, Employment Promotion Program, etc. are offered.
