- The feature of Taoyuan City water culture is pond, which is to activate the pond function. In addition to opening up as a retention basin with irrigation functions, for areas with few parks, the existing pond is used to rebuild the retention basin parks, and at the same time, it can achieve disaster prevention and hydrophilicity Function.
- The Zhongyuan Pond Ecological Park and Longshan Pond Ecological Park detention basin has been completed in September 2023. Construction continues on two other detention basins: “Dashulin Ecological Park” and “Danan Pond Ecological Park.” They has been completed in January 2024. Construction for the “Badeyuan 74B Detention Basin” began in July 2022, and it is anticipated to be completed by June 2025, the current progress is about 51%.
- The City actively improves the living environment and rest space around the pond, creates the first pond patrol volunteer team in the country and plans a training guide course to protect the pond ecology.Currently, there are 10 teams located in Luzhu, Bade, Zhongli, and Yangmei districts, with about 120 volunteers.
