In response to the popularity of mobile devices, Taoyuan has built a friendly digital environment, providing the public with free wireless Internet access in indoor and outdoor places.
Free Wi-Fi hotspot available:As of 2023, Taoyuan City has availed total of 727 free wireless Internet hotspots, mainly distributed in mass transportation nodes, cultural and educational venues, public places, tourist attractions, night markets, parks and business districts.
- Provide outdoor high-performance wireless hotspot:A number of outdoor high-performance Access Points (AP) are also provided in squares before TRA Taoyuan Station and Zhongli Station Square, etc., with a total of 10 hotspots in 2 hotspot areas, and wireless network coverage on elementary and junior high schools reaches 100%.
- Construction of wireless networks at MRT leading bus stops: Considering that MRT stations are important areas for human flow, free wireless networks will be built at MRT leading bus stops during the MRT construction period.
Through friendly digital environment, we will prepare the infrastructure for the entry of ICT, IoT, and AI smart technologies, so that Taoyuan City can move towards the 5G generation and the vision of a smart city.
