Active Promotion of Flagship and Special Parks
To make the park livelier and more interesting, Taoyuan City has been promoting inclusive playgrounds with the core goals of "freedom", "features", "naturalization", "safety", "fairness" and "challenge". Furthermore, in accordance with the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) Convention on the Rights of Children, the City attaches great importance to children's "survival and development rights", "protection rights", "participation rights", allowing children to coexist and prosper with others (groups) and nature.
The special parks are themed with diversified play equipment, and the premise of “all-age use” is to strengthen disability-friendly measures, improve the friendly environment of public facilities, increase public participation, and create a variety of possibilities and safety through design techniques so that parents, children, and the elderly can enjoy their playtime.
Implementation Results
In 2023, every 10,000 citizens have access to 5.23 hectares of green field resources in Taoyuan City. There are a total of 797 parks, of which 361 have been furnished playgrounds, and another 62 inclusive or featured playgrounds have been opened or under construction.
