Facilitating Commuting in the Keelung-Taipei-New Taipei-Taoyuan Joint Living Zone
The TPASS Public Transportation Monthly Pass was launched on July 1, 2023, at a price of NT$1,200. Within 30 days of activation, pass holders can enjoy unlimited rides. With the pass in hand, individuals can seamlessly travel within the urban bus systems, subway lines, Taiwan Railways, national highway buses, YouBike, and more in the residential areas of Taoyuan City, Taipei City, New Taipei City, and Keelung City. This initiative aims to encourage the public to shift from private transportation to public transportation and significantly reduce the cost of commuting between cities, marking the first step toward creating a MEGA CITY.
In response to the launch of TPASS, buses will synchronize connections with the Airport MRT and Taiwan Railways stations
The Airport MRT and Taiwan Railways provide mass transportation for passengers through rail systems, offering advantages in transporting a large number of people in a single trip. Combined with the strategy of densely connecting buses to stations during peak hours, this approach helps to reduce congestion for people and vehicles traveling to Taipei City and New Taipei City via national highway buses. For densely populated areas, the Taoyuan City Government actively provides shuttle buses, which contributes positively to reducing road congestion.
