Giving Second Life to Ocean Wastes
In the beach cleaning activities, the plastic bottles(PET) and plastic products accounted for a relatively high proportion of the ocean wastes, therefore, Taoyuan City transported the plastic bottles(PET) scrounged in the beach cleaning activities to the recycling vendors for processing and manufacturing into related environmentally friendly products such as sportswear, giving the waste bottles a second life, decelerating the ocean waste and creating economic value, so as to promote the green economy and protect the ocean ecology. In 2023, the value-and-output-adding from plastic bottle as ocean wastes was approx NT$ 800 million in aggregate.
