Coastal Environmental Education Plan

There are four major ecological highlights along the coast of Taoyuan City: Guanxin Algae Reefs, Xucuogang Important Wetland, Xinwu Stone Weirs, and Guanyin Caota Sand Dunes. Through the construction of coast environmental education venues and applications for environmental education facilities certification, environmental education and eco-tourism are promoted.

Xucuogang Important Wetland

Combined with the "Xucuogang Wetland Ecological Classroom" of Neihai Elementary School in Dayuan District and Dayuan Environmental Protection Association, promotion of Xucuogang Important Wetland

ecological observation and handling of environmental education guide activities are conducted. Meanwhile, a joint proposal to register the Xucuogang Important Wetland as the "Important National Wetland" Environmental Protection Education facilities certification was made to Environmental Protection

Administration, Executive Yuan, with certification awarded in October 2021.

Caota Sand Dunes Guanyin Exhibition Hall

Caota Sand Dunes Guanyin Exhibition Hall includes seven major themes such as the master vision of Caota Sand Dunes, chronicle of events, wall of knowledge, sand dune topography, observation of the sand world with numbers, AR Sandbox, marine biological conservation exhibition, etc It also contains 6 interactive experience facilities such as magnetism, sand diameter, weight, temperature, wind speed and AR landform sandbox, making visitors accessible to multiple learning in an entertaining way. Caota Sand Dunes Guanyin Exhibition Hall was awarded Environmental Education facility and field certification in January 2022.

Algae Reef Information Center

The Algae Reef Information Center commenced operation on July 4, 2019 to promote algal reef ecological education through physical observation, sensory experience, multimedia interaction, etc., and was awarded the Environmental Education facility certification in November 2021.

Oceanic Hakka Beach Seine Culture Hall

Oceanic Hakka Beach Seine Culture Hall commenced operation on June 19, 2020. The museum is furnished with displays beach seine fishing equipment and related precious cultural relics of agriculture and fishery with a view to promote Oceanic Hakka Beach Seine Culture, and was awarded the Environmental Education facility certification in April 2021.

Xinwu Stone Weirs Story Cultural House

Xinwu Stone Weirs Story House opened in 2021. Through the display of Stone weirs models and cultural relics, the "Poket Xinwu" App which developed by local youth, and the "Maker Education Classroom" focused on environmental sustainability, we are looking forward the Xinwu Stone Weirs Story House to not only inherit the century-old stone weirs culture, but also promote the environmental protection concept of plastic-free ocean and coastal tourism. Xinwu Stone Weirs Story House was certified as a Environmental Education Facility and Field in January 2022.
