Environment and Life Education
Taoyuan City has promoted landscape renovation of Guishan Nursery, performed combination of the overall planning of Hutoushan Scenic Area as a forest park, and submitted applications for the certification of environmental education facilities. Through the experience of environmental education, the City expects to avail the public to knowing the interdependence between human beings and the environment, and maintain the goals of ecological balance of the environment and respect to lives.
Cultivating Tree Seedlings and Promoting Its Plantation
The City cultivates high-quality afforestation seedlings in Guishan Nursery, and distributes seedlings to citizens, communities and schools for planting free of charge from the end of November to December every year to increase the green spaces. From 2015 to April 2024, the cumulative number of tree seedlings distributed has reached 1.05 million, among which includes free seedlings for Taoyuan Citizen, communities, schools and other units to increase green space and improve the quality of life; in the meantime, the Department of Agriculture of the City conducts random inspections for the entities allocated with seedlings (such as communities) to ensure that the allocated seedlings grow well. By taking the community as an example, the City expects to enhance the beauty of the living space of citizens. In addition, in the annual Arbor Day event, free seedlings giveaway is held for the public to bring the seedlings home for plantation and furthermore beautify the living environment.
