The promotion of environmental protection volunteer services has been fruitful for Taoyuan City, as the environmental protection volunteer team within its jurisdiction reaches 500, with a total number of more than 33,000 people. No matter it's in environment and hygiene, pollution reporting, environmental education and other aspects, Taoyuan City promotion of environmental protection relies on the strength of environmental protection volunteers and the cooperation of citizens, thereby making the City's environment beautiful.
Environment Cleaning Day
Since 2018, the second Saturday of each month marks the “Taoyuan City Environment Cleaning Day”, which is the day for Taoyuan City to call on the environmental protection volunteer team to perform general cleaning of the environment and the day to gathers public consensus.
Education Training Courses
Since 2021, in response to the impact of the epidemic, the education training of Taoyuan City Government Environment Cleaning Inspection Team was mainly conducted online, supplemented by physical courses. Each year, physical courses are organized in response to actual needs, while the online education training courses are continuously updated.
Results Presentation
In December 2023, the environmental protection volunteer team will attend 4,281 teams, with 245,166 person-times, and the garbage removal volume will reach about 575,947 kilograms In addition, outstanding environmental protection volunteers from 12 districts are paid visits, with interviews made to record the volunteers’ changes in mentality for further posting on the authority website, allowing citizens to learn their contributions.
Taoyuan City also has Water Environmental Protection and Patrol, Coast Guard, and Forest Ranger Volunteers to help maintain the beautiful natural environment of Taoyuan City.
